XCES - ClimXtreme Central Evaluation System

The German research project ClimXtreme funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) aims at providing sound answers to the questions whether the past climate change has caused more extreme weather events and whether future climate change will modify the ocurrence of extreme events. The analysis tools to be developed by the individual subprojects as well as the data needed to investigate these questions will be collected into a common software toolbox. This will facilitate the test applications, the data access and to collect the results.

Freva - Free Evaluation System Framework

The Climate Informatics and Technologies research group provides a standardized data and evaluation system - developed at the DKRZ and FUB in Germany. Freva provides efficient and comprehensive access to the model data base as well as to evaluation data sets. The application system is developed as an easy to use low-end application minimizing technical requirements for users and tool developers.
